Knowing the age demographics when choosing social media platforms for our business is essential.

Below are some graphs I made based on some 2022 stats here. These graphs showcase the demographics by age for popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

It provides a bird's-eye view to help us understand the user distribution and get a feel for which platforms might align best with our target audience.

This graph gives you a visual breakdown of the age demographics from 18-65. The largest chunk of its user base falls in the 18-29 age range, followed closely by the 30-49 age group. So, if your target audience falls within these age ranges, Facebook can be a sweet spot for your business.

Just like Facebook, Instagram is particularly popular among the younger generations. The 18-29 and 30-49 age groups dominate the scene, making Instagram a prime playground for engaging with millennials and young adults.

YouTube—the go-to hub for videos of all kinds. This platform attracts a diverse crowd. You'll see users spanning different age groups, from the teens maybe exploring educational content to the older generations enjoying videos for entertainment.

This platform is known for its young and vibrant user base. You'll notice a slightly broader range of users where the majority of users falling into the Gen Z and younger millennial categories.

Remember, these demographics can shift over time as social media trends evolve, but having this snapshot gives you a great starting point to make informed decisions about where to focus your social media efforts.
